Whimsy Challenge Time

Hi everyone a very happy Wednesday to you and one day closer to the weekend.  Well I think Autumn has sort of arrived here the weather has definitely changed its been a bit grotty the past few days but the weekend is meant to be better so I'm planning to drag the kiddiewinkles and hubby for a walk in the forest.  We have been finishing off our walks with an ice cream but I think those days may have gone for this year but no worries I think we'll stop for a hot chocolate and a slice of apple pie instead!

Well as the title suggests its time for the Whimsy rubber team to show you their makes for the challenge over at the Whimsy Inspirations blog.  The theme this month is Masculine Cards and I was a little stumped for a bit as masculine isn't something I do very often.  Anyway here is what I came up with.

As you can see very clean and simple.  I used the new release Holiday Sliders 3 sentiments which can be found HERE and stamped them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink 'fired brick'.  They're fab sentiments and they stamp beautifully.  I cut them out using the new release Slider 3 die which can be found HERE and matted them onto black card.  To get the correct shape for the black mat I just placed the die on the black card, drew around the outside of the die to give me that next size up mat and cut it out.

Sorry for my wonky picture taking skills, they're straight in real life I promise you!

Anyway, we would love to see your take on masculine cards so why not pop over HERE and join in the fun - as always there are three prizes up for grabs!

Okay folks whilst I'm here don't forget today is Whimsy Stamps Release Day and as usual we have our preview (yesterday), release day (today) and review day (tomorrow) blog hops going on.  So pop over to the Whimsy Inspirations Blog HERE to check out all the Whimsy gorgeousness being released this month.  You're going to love them!!!

Right time for me to go but see you same time same place tomorrow as I'll have some more Whimsy inspiration to share with you.

Take care,
Ann-Marie

New challenge time over at The ABC Challenges

Good morning everyone and a happy Sunday to you folks.  I hope you've all had a good week and been enjoying your weekend and maybe squeezing in a little crafty time.  We're still struggling a little here to get back into the early morning school routine but I'm sure it won't be long before we're in the swing of it.

Anyways, as it's the 15th it's time again for another new challenge over at The ABC Challenges and I have my DT card to share with you all.  This challenge we are on the letter V so that's V for Very Cute and we are being sponsored this time by Stamp and Create.  My teamies as usual have made lots of cute creations for you to feast your eyes upon so go and take a peek at all the gorgeous inspiration.

So let me show you my card.  I had a bit of a dig around my stamp collection and came across this little cutie pie.  I don't even think she has been inked up before and how bad is that.  So she is a Sarah Kay image called 'Bernadette admiring the spring flowers' and she's so cute and I've coloured her up with my copics.

Okay so here's my creation using the new digital stamp 'Queen of Hearts' and isn't she fabulous.  She has been coloured using my copics and I went for quite bold colours and love how its turned out.  I went all out with the heart theme and decided to use the Shape EZ template 'Triple Heart Gift Box Card' which can be found HERE on the Whimsy Store.

"Text Me"

Good morning everyone from a rather misty Bournemouth which I'm hoping will burn off later to leave us with another beautiful day.  The mornings and evenings are starting to have that lovely fresh autumnal smell about them and although I will be sad to see the warmer weather go I just love autumn its my most favourite season.

As I'm up nice and early today I thought I would load up my latest creation for you.  This time I've used a Kenny K image called 'Texting Diva' which is from Whimsy's latest release.  I've coupled her with the 'Tiny Shapes Die' set which is fab you get three little shaped dies to use and I opted for the heart one on this card.  The image has been coloured up using copics and then once I'd cut it out with my Spellbinders die I just left it all in place and inked around it before taking it out to give me the white border around the image.

Medium:  copics
Papers:  Prima 'Rondelle'
Dies:  Whimsy 'Tiny Shapes' die set, Spellbinders 'Romantic Rectangles', Dienamics 'Crochet' border

The close up.  Fab image isn't she - she can be used for so many things so a good one to have in your stash I think.  Now I'm not too hot with text speak so I just went with 'lol' which for the purpose of my card is 'lots of love'.

List of copics
Face/body:  E000, E00, E21, E11, R20, R30
Hair:  W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, 100
Trousers:  W1, W3, W5, W7
Top:  YR16, YR23, YR31
Phone/Necklace/Belt:  R81, R83, R85

Okay, a couple of challenges I would like to enter this card into:

Right time for me to toodle on off now folks.  Its my little girl's last day at home today so we have some serious chillin out to do.  We've got a tinkerbell film lined up with the obligatory popcorn and chocolate fest and maybe a batch or two of cookie making.  My boy had his first day of senior school yesterday and he came home buzzing so I was happy as I had been worried all day that he would hate it.  Today will be the tester though as yesterday it was just the new Year 7 but today the whole school is back so we'll see.

Take care everyone and catch up with you soon.

New Challenge time over at The ABC Challenge

Good morning everyone and I hope its a fine one where you are.  We've had another few gorgeous warm days with great weather and beautiful clear skies for the annual Bournemouth Air Show.  No need for us to go into town to see the show as they all pass over our house anyway and we saw some spectacular displays from the Red Arrows today the kiddies just loved it!

Anyways, just popping in today as its time again for another new challenge over at The ABC Challenges and I have my DT card to share with you all.  This challenge we have moved on to the letter U so that's U for Unlimited folks so that's 'anything goes'.  We are being sponsored by the fab Tilda's Town and a nice easy challenge theme this time so we'd love to see you join in and have a chance at winning.  As usual there are some gorgeous creations from my teamies so do pop over and take a peep at all the gorgeous inspiration.

So moving on here is my card.  I decided to play with my Strawberry Yummy Tilda from the Sweet Rainbow collection and she has been coloured up using my copics.

Image:  Strawberry Yummy Tilda from Sweet Rainbow Collection

A close up of Tilda for you - I do so love her little hat!

Okay time for me to go now.  Off to cook a yummy full English breakfast for the clan and then we're heading on out for another walk in the New Forest.  I haven't picked the trail yet but after last week's gymnastics I think it best if I choose a relatively flat route!! A quick stop afterwards for a New Forest ice cream as a treat is a must too I think!

Take care folks and enjoy your day whatever you're up to.
