I'm your Angel

Hi folks, happy Sunday to you all I hope you've been enjoying your weekend.  Before I show you my card I'd just like to say a big big thank you for all the kind good luck wishes for our school appeal we had on Thursday they really meant a lot.  Well I can let you all know we had a phone call late Friday afternoon to say that our appeal was accepted and Luke will be going to the school he was so desperate to go to.  Well we all did a little happy dance around the kitchen and there were a few tears as well but very happy ones, but I won't really relax until I have the letter in my sticky little mits confirming it all!

Anway moving on I'd like to show you my card using a very sweet little image from Bildmalarna.  This is another one of those stamps I've had for an age and not used.  I've told myself I'm not allowed to buy any more stamps or papers until I've made good use of the stuff I already have.  The trouble is there are so many new goodies to play with that I would like I'm finding it incredibly difficult not to get any.

Image:  Bildmalarna 'I'm your Angel'
Medium:  copics
Papers:  My Mind's Eye 'Penny Lane'
Flowers:  Wild Orchid Crafts
Dies:  Spellbinders 'romantic rectangles'
all matted onto cardstock from The Papermill, ribbon from stash

A little close up.  Isn't she adorable and very easy to colour.  All the papers have been distressed with Tim Holtz 'walnut stain' distress ink and when I cut out the image with the spellbinders frame I just left the image in and went over it with the distress ink to leave a little white border.

Copics used

Dress:  RV000, R81, R83, R85, R39
Tights/Wings/Flower:  BG11, BG13, BG49
Hair:  E41, E43, E47, E49

Challenges I would like to enter:-

Okay I'm off to rustle up some early tea as I like to have the kiddies bathed and in bed nice and early on a Sunday ready for school.  I can settle down to a little crafting hopefully then unless hubby decides he wants to watch a film or something.

Take care folks and thank you for swinging by your comments always brighten my day.

Young Love

Hi folks, I hope you are all well and having a good week.  Sorry if I haven't been around that much but we have had a busy week this week.  I mentioned a few weeks back that our son didn't get into his first preference secondary school for this September so we have gone down the appeals route.  We had an appeal hearing on Tuesday which lasted hours but the panel decided the school had a strong enough case for not accepting us (and at least 15 other children) so we have now gone to stage two which means individual hearings in front of the panel and ours is tomorrow.  I must admit I feel a little daunted and completely out of my depth to say the least.  When we had the first hearing we were all in this room together and you could see some of these parents had hired people to help them but at at least £750 upwards for this advice we couldn't afford this so we have been doing our own research but I feel like we're a step behind before we've even had our meeting.  Well come Friday afternoon we will know one way or the other!

Right enough of listening to my woes I'll move onto a topic far more pleasant.  He's some piccies of my latest card which has taken me days to finish.  I've used a real sweetie by Sugar Nellie called 'Young Love' and coloured them with promarkers.

Image:  Sugar Nellie 'Young Love'
Medium:  Promarkers
Papers:  K & Company 'Classic K Bailey' (very old)
Flowers:  Wild Orchid Crafts

Okay last piccie is my usual close up of the adorable image.

Blouse:  ivory
Jumper:  tea green, soft green, grey green
Hair/shoes:  sandstone, umber

Okay time for me to go its late and I would like to not have dark circles under my eyes or yawn at our appeal tomorrow so I shall bid you goodnight.  Don't think I'll be able to sleep well as my tummy is doing somersaults now just thinking about it.  I don't think we stand much chance I'm afraid as I've heard they only really get overturned on medical or legal grounds and we don't have either but I'll never forgive myself if we don't try.

Take care folks and I will do my best to catch up with you soon.

Take care,
Ann-Marie

Good morning everyone, happy Thursday to you.  I hope your week has been going well, ours is okay here but we're stuck indoors as its keeps raining so we can't do any of the outside stuff we were going to so we may just do some baking instead.

I thought I'd show you my latest card today which is a criss cross card.  Love making these they're so simple and look lovely.  I decided to hunt out one of my favourite Tilda's and coloured her up with copics.  Here's a piccie of the card all together.

Dies:  Magnolia Doohickey heart, Marianne Creatables border &

Lace and ribbon from stash

A bit of a close up piccie next of the super sweet image.  I added tiny pink gems to her headress and flower wreath and tear drop gems as raindrops.

Rope Swing

Happy Sunday to you folks, I hope you have been enjoying your weekend ours has been fairly quiet but lovely.

Right onto my card.  I decided to make an easel card for a change its been a long time since I made one and I dug out an old Sugar Nellie image called 'Rope Swing' by Elisabeth Bell.  Sometimes I forget I have such beautiful older stamps with all the new ones coming out.  I decided to have another go at colouring on kraft with my Prismas again.

Image:  Sugar Nellie 'Rope Swing'
Medium:  Prismacolor pencils blended with sansador
Papers:  Prima 'Sun Kiss'
Dies:  Tim Holtz on the Edge, Magnolia Doohickey 'vintage daisies',
'vintage tag' & 'dragonflies', Cheery Lynn 'fanciful flourish'
Roses:  Wild Orchid Crafts

Everything was distressed with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink.  I'd forgotten how hard easel cards are to photograph.  My camera seems to have made the colours a bit paler as well they're deeper IRL.

A close up of the cutiepie image.  I so love my vintage daisy die at the moment it makes fab flowers.

Saturated Canary 'Orchard'

Hi everyone from a rather dreary Bournemouth.  Its still so cold here but it doesn't seem to bother the kiddies they've just come in off the trampolene saying its snowing.  They say its going to be a little warmer at the weekend well I think its about time it was a lot warmer!!

Anyway, onto my card.  I've used a Saturated Canary digi called Orchard and I've used  a mixture of copics and promarkers to colour her.  When I saw the sketch over on Sweet Sketch Wednesday I immediately knew what I wanted to do which is so unlike me as I do so dither!!!  Anyway, when I saw it I thought yes I'll use acetate as I wanted the butterflies to look like they were actually flying in the air but wanted to see the paper behind so as to follow the sketch and this is how it turned out.

Image:  Saturated Canary 'orchard'
Medium:  Copics/Promarkers
Papers:  K & Company 'McKenna' all matted onto kraft
Sentiment:  Whimsy

In the next piccie you can see the flowers and I love how they've turned out.  I used a couple of old punches for these and just layered them up after moulding them a little with a ball tool.  They are actually punched from vellum as are the butterflies.

When the card is open you can see on the left that I added another spellbinders rectangle and a sentiment just to hide the glue from the front panel.

Next is a bit of a close up of the adorable image and she was lovely to colour and I just dirtied up the edges with Tim Holtz 'walnut stain' distress ink.

Pens used
Reds:  R81, R85, R59
Greens:  YG91, YG95, Pros Lime Zest & Pear Green
Browns:  E41, E43, E47, E49

Tilda with Straw Hat

Hello everyone how are you all doing.  I nearly fainted this morning when I opened the curtains to blue sky and sunshine its still very cold but sunshine nonetheless so I'm not complaining.  In fact I apologise my photos seem a little on the dark side but I couldn't take them in the conservatory like I normally do as it was too bright!!!!

Anyway, I've gone back to my Magnolias for this one and did a bit of masking and picked out the yellows in my DPs for the colour combo.

Image:  Magnolia 'Tilda with Straw Hat' & 'stone path'
Medium:  copics/promarkers
Papers:  First Edition 'Blank Canvas'
Dies:  Memory Box 'puffy clouds', Spellbinders 'labels 22'
Flower:  Cherry blossom from WOC

Another piccie to show you the side view.  The semi circle of hearts behind the top layer of papers is not a punch it is in fact a cupcake wrap.  I bought a pack of 20 from Hobbycraft a while back as I liked the filigree hearts.

Lastly a close up of the images.  I'm fairly happy with how they've turned out and with hindsight I should have added some clouds in but this is something I need to practice so is on my 'have a go' list.

Copics used
Dress:  Y21, YR23 + vanilla promarker
Hat/socks:  BG11, BG13, BG15
